What Our Guests say 500 + Reviews

Summary: We had a great 4 day stay. The house was well equipped. The beds were really comfy. Very quiet location! We really enjoyed the bench at the end of the pier. We saw fish, turtles, heron, ducks with their goslings and even a pair of osprey!!Now I want to comment on some things I read in other reviews. The "road" to get to the house is a single tract road. Go slow! We never met anyone on the road so it really wasn't an issue. The trip down to the lake is not that steep (as other reviews had stated). Yes, the backyard slopes down to the lake but there are about 20 stairs and then the short distance up the hill. I'm an out of shape 60 person who did the hill just fine.We went to lake Bemidji State Park. We combined the old log trail with the big walk. Wonderful morning! Also ate at Tutto Benne and Green Mill. Both were excellent!!! We had an amazing time and would definitely stay here again!!

Summary: House is nicely appointed. Good views of lake particularly during the morning sunrise. Fairly steep walk down to lake. Can be slippery after rain. However, it’s beautiful. Be aware that the road into the property is fairly narrow and dirt and spots are muddy if wet, but not in any way impassable, just rustic. However, it would be difficult to bring a large boat onto the property and be able to turn around or maneuver it. You’d be better off launching from Pike Hole Resort or Cass Lake and bringing trailer only to park on the property. Dock is nice. We enjoyed our stay! Primarily a fishing trip. Kitchi provided ample perch (actually quite tasty), some walleye (we were not particularly successful, not that others were not), and northern pike. One complaint I would have is that owners should update site description. There is no hot tub as advertised, and I would not call the area by the dock as a beach. Otherwise, as a retreat, nice!

Summary: Let me say the house met all our needs and location of property was centrally to the state parks we wanted to visit. The roadway leading up to the house can be challenging for individuals that are not used driving on back roads. Enjoyed sitting on the bench on the dock, but personally I would not swim in this area of the lake. Also, don't forget the bug spray! The bugs enjoy living in the region of Minnesota, so don't think I am only talking about around the house. We sprayed ourselves before hiking anywhere in this area.

Summary: House was very clean and had everything that was needed. Very secluded only hard part was the steep climb from the dock. Mike Walsh was very helpful.

Jul 16, 2022 11:00:09 AM
Summary: Secluded rustic cabin on lake-it is accessible via a 1 mile dirt path through dense woods. Mosquitoes and flies are plentiful outside as well as inside along with a dead mouse. This cabin has a spacious living/dining area, new appliances, with a beautiful view of the lake! Boat landing has plenty room to dock boats and a nice bench at the end. Plans for the family entertainment inside the cabin had to be moved into town due to all the bugs. Homeowner was contacted and it was suggested we set off a bug bomb, which was not acceptable with small children. We felt cleaning of the property could have been done more thorough.

Summary: Such a wonderful stay. House felt like a home. Private location. Lake was so nice. Nothing was lacking. Walk from dock to house was steep, only thing close to a downside.

Summary: My wife, a few friends, and I booked this cabin for a weeklong summer vacation. We loved how secluded and quiet this property was. We enjoyed taking our boat out to fish and swim. It is so easy to access a variety of lakes. Excellent location. The cabin was clean with appropriate amenities and communication with the host. We would come back again!
